We have learnt from experience that housing is a major problem in the Netherlands. Housing for the elderly and over 50s are even a much bigger problem in the Netherlands. What are we going to do to solve these problems?
Waybreed has expanded its business into the construction of social housing for the elderly. We have partnered with municipalities to create housing residences to fit a socially inclusive lifestyle for the elderly and 50+
We are developing a total of 181 housing units in three separate projects units for the elderly and 50+. The projects are in early development in Dronten and Swifterbant, Flevoland, and Emmen in Drenthe. The housing units will include social meeting venues
We aim to use functional design and grand architecture to improve the lives of the elderly and 50+ people in the Netherlands
Architecture is constantly changing and adapting to new needs, which are linked to social, economic, technological, political, and demographic changes. In this sense, the aging population is one of the most outstanding changes of the 21st century: The increase in life expectancy and the decrease in fertility rates mean that the older population is increasingly numerous. How can architecture help to provide a better quality of life, promote the autonomy, dignity, and well-being of the elderly? This is our mission.
